Website Update

Well I’ve just spent an afternoon / evening pottering about on this site, probably should have been working on some other projects but it’s nice to get this in a better shape though, since it was a bit empty!

Sections

So we’ve got two brand new sections

projects

So will be putting my projects (hopefully all types, but probably software development lol) here which will include a little summary of what it is and some useful links. I’ll see if I can get it so if I do produce any blog posts that are relevant to the project, it’ll appear in a little section. Probably will leave this for when I understand Hugo a bit better though.

pics

Will be a collection of galleries, so Instagram but cooler since I’m self-hosting B). Currently started it off with outdoor and comp-related pics might add some more categories as we go on.

When I improve this area I’ll try and make it so I can add some metadata to each pic and improve usability?

Cool 404 page

Previously it was displaying the standard nginx 404 page, but now it displays a 404 that is more in-line with the theme. Also doesn’t redirect when it does! Quite happy about that :)

New theme

Was previously using the theme “smol” but now it is using “hugo-bearblog”. It does seem a little bit cleaner, but I might end up making my own theme since I’m making some tweaks to assist the categories, but we’ll see!

That’s all

It was mostly a refactor on the backend introducing taxonomies, which are somewhat setup, I’ll need to go fixing it again at some point. But that is it for this post! Hope you all have a lovely day / night B)
